| The Cursillo movement is for: - Those seeking a renewal of faith
- Those who wish to become more effective leaders for Christ
- Those wanting to be supported in continued Christian growth
- Those who are seeking Christian community
The Cursillo Movement originated in Spain; hence, many of the terms used are Spanish. The term "Cursillo" is an abbreviation for the full title "Cursillo en Christianidad" which means "A short course in Christianity". It is a method of preparing and continually supporting Christians as they live out their commitments to Christ in their homes, parishes and workplaces. It begins with a 3-day long weekend retreat which consists of many talks that together give a short course in Christianity. After the weekend, the movement continues with small reunion group meetings and larger Ultreya meetings to support the members of the movement in their life with Christ. If you are new to the Cursillo Movement and are interested in finding out more about it, please visit our page on Weekends to find out when our upcoming weekends are and download an application for a weekend. If you are already involved in the Cursillo Movement, please visit our Fourth Day page to find out about Fourth Day activities. That is also where you will find the prayer and palanca lists for the weekends. If you find yourself in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, and have been involved in the Cursillo Movement in your former diocese, please visit our Fourth Day page, and the Secretariat page to find out how to get involved here. |
